Comprehensive House Rules & Safety Protocol
To ensure a seamless, safe, and tranquil experience for all our guests and to protect the natural beauty of the Kleinmond biosphere, we kindly ask that you strictly adhere to the following enforced protocols.
1. Arrival & Departure Timings
We maintain a rigorous schedule to ensure every unit is professionally prepared to our "Serenity" standards.
Check-In: Strictly after 14:00 PM. Early arrivals cannot be accommodated as this time is required for unit preparation.
Check-Out: Strictly before 10:00 AM. Delayed departures disrupt our turnover process for arriving guests and may incur additional fees. Essential Resource Conservation
2. Kleinmond is in a sensitive ecological zone. We ask all Humpback guests to be "Eco-Conscious" travelers:
Water Usage: Use water sparingly due to critical dam levels and local municipality restrictions. Please keep showers brief and avoid unnecessary waste.
Electricity: Help us reduce our carbon footprint. Turn off all lights and the air-conditioning unit whenever you leave the unit or retire for the night.
3. Rest, Silence & Local Regulations
In accordance with Government Noise Control Regulations and to respect the quiet coastal atmosphere of our community:
Quiet Hours: Please respect the silence between 10:00 PM and 08:00 AM.
Strict Noise Policy: No loud music, shouting, or excessive noise is allowed at any time. We maintain a quiet environment for the sake of neighbours and other guests. Failure to comply may result in immediate eviction without a refund.
4. Security, Entry/Exit & Liability
Your safety and the security of the property are our highest priorities:
Lock-Up Policy: Whenever you leave the unit—even for a short walk—or when going to sleep, all windows must be closed and the double doors must be securely locked.
Access: Ensure the main gates are securely closed behind you immediately upon entering or exiting the premises.
Parking: Please utilize the off-street parking provided directly in front of the Humpback unit (access from DF Malherbe Street).
Liability: All facilities and parking are used at the guest's own risk.
5. Cleanliness & Maintenance
As Humpback is a self-catering sanctuary, guests are responsible for the unit’s upkeep during their stay:
Kitchenette: Please wash all crockery and cutlery after use.
Refuse: Place all rubbish/trash in the bins provided.
Furniture: Do not move furniture from its original position.
Departure: Please leave the unit in a tidy condition. While a cleaning fee is included, we expect respectful treatment of the space.
6. Visitors, Gatherings & Smoking
Occupancy: Only the number of guests who have booked and paid (maximum 2) may occupy the premises. No unauthorised overnight visitors are allowed without prior arrangement.
Functions: Strictly no parties, social gatherings, or events are allowed.
Smoking Policy: Smoking (including cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes, and vapes) is strictly prohibited inside the unit. Smoking is permitted on the outdoor deck only; please use the provided ashtrays and do not throw cigarette butts in the garden or on the property.
7. Property Damage & Towels
Reporting: Please report any faults or damages immediately.
Charges: Significant breakages or loss of property (including stained, burnt, or damaged linen and towels) will be charged directly to the guest.
Important: Please bring your OWN BEACH TOWELS. Our unit towels are strictly for indoor use and are not to be taken to the beach or lagoon.
By completing your booking at Coastline Serenity, you acknowledge and agree to abide by these rules. We thank you for your cooperation in keeping our coastline serene and our guests safe.
